Ship Street, Drogheda
I have hardly had time to write about the Drogheda photo walk last weekend. It was a great day out where I met up with a whole rabble of other photographers (surely that must be the correct collective term!). As we wandered the streets we were provided with a running commentary of the City’s history. All in all, it was an interesting and informative day out and it was great to meet up with friends and make some new acquaintances.
One of the most interesting parts of the walk, in my opinion, was Ship Street. Ship Street is apparently the oldest street in Drogheda. Running directly up from the River Boyne, flooding was often a problem and the street is now more or less deserted. The broken windows and rotting paint just added to the history and the mystery of the place. It was a fascinating place to wander around.

There are lots of photos still to come.
