Olly
It’s been a while - as you may have guessed, the Project365 has gone out of the window. There were a number of reasons I chose to stop. Firstly, I found that I was spending far too much time trying to think of photos to take and then I would give myself a hard time for not putting that effort into my PhD! Secondly, some of the photos I was taking were truly dreadful! I know that dreadful photos are all part and parcel of such a project (can’t create a masterpiece every day after all!) but I found that the bad photos were actually serving to depress me rather than inspire me to try harder as I hoped they would.
Consequently I decided that the timing for this project was all wrong - maybe later in the year when I have more time to dedicate to it, I will start afresh.
In the meantime, I seem to have taken a prolonged break - not just from photography, but also from blogging. But I feel the time is right to get back into both.
A couple of weeks ago I was asked to take some family photos. I willingly accepted as they had a 2 week old baby who they were eager to have photographed. We spent a good three hours going over various types of set-up and, although being a tad nervous at the start, I’m really happy with some of the shots we managed to get. I had great fun photographing little Olly - hopefully I’ll get a chance to do more types of shoot like this in the coming months.
